The Art of Seeing branding, website and magazine

The Art of Seeing is a biannual magazine showcasing both established and emerging artists as they share their artistic journeys, challenges, and current successes. I was brought on to create the Art of Seeing universe, from developing its identity and establishing its digital and social media presence to designing and producing the inaugural volume The Hard Places issue. Volume 01 launched at Fotografiska Berlin and is available in bookstores across London, Berlin, and Münich.

The Identity

For The Art of Seeing, we created a bold yet sophisticated identity built around a modular logo system of “windows,” each representing a core category of the magazine, design, music, literature, photography, and film. While the master logo serves as the primary mark.

Juxtaposing typography, delicate linework, and graphic elements with vibrant colour and dynamic layouts, the identity creates a flexible visual system that feels both distinctive and cohesive.

The Magazine

The Hard Places issue was a 200+ page publication with an initial print run of 10,000 copies. I led the design, developing a flexible editorial system and section-specific templates, while using alternating paper stocks to create a distinct tactile experience throughout. I worked closely with our print partner to oversee production from concept to press.
