Avenular clinical trial branding 


After Interbrand successfully executed the rebranding initiative for Boehringer Ingelheim, a research-driven and family-owned biopharmaceutical company, one of their clinical trial teams within the company approached us for assistance in crafting a distinctive name and branding solution for their ground breaking trail targeting chronic kidney disease.

Working closely with a team of designers I developed an art direction balancing close up cropped shots of human moments juxtaposed with scientific moments, showing the real lives and people behind the trial. In addition to creating a modular layout system inspired by the soft anatomical form of the glomerulus, the part of the kidney which the trial targets, creating a scalable system where human softness coexists with innovation.
